Attack on Patrick. XD
I get really frustrated when I hear some Christians talking about pleading the blood of Jesus. You hear this kind of thing a lot in charismatic circles: “You need to plead the blood of Jesus over this problem,” “Plead the blood over this part of your life,” etc.
I say this with all respect and I do not mean to be disrespectful, but I honestly feel that the concept of pleading the blood of Jesus is a grave misunderstanding.
While it is true that the blood of Jesus has made redemption possible for believers (Colossians 1:13), there is no Biblical evidence to support the concept of pleading the blood of Jesus over a situation or an area of your life. Christ’s blood was effective for redemption, not for purifying problems in your life.
Christians are encouraged to bring their problems before God in prayer (Philippians 4:6-7; 1 Peter 5:6-7), but the idea of pleading the blood is just not found in the Bible.
